Dance Accompanist

Purpose:
The Dance Accompanist provides musical accompaniment (piano and/or percussion) for academic activities including studio classes, workshops, and performances in the BFA Program in Dance, under the direction of the Operations Manager.

Education:
Completion of a post-secondary degree in Music Performance (Piano and/or Percussion) or a related field.

Experience:


Skills:

- Advanced skills in piano and/or percussion.
- Advanced skills in sight reading and improvising and ability to improvise in different and irregular time signatures and phrasings.
- Familiarity with historical classical and folk-dance forms ( waltz, mazurka, polonaise, etc.).
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to meet deadlines and organize time effectively.
