Elementary Counsellor

Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools (NLPS) is seeking a .6 of a FTE, Elementary Counsellor , for a temporary contract commencing September 1, 2026, through until June 30, 2027.

Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools (NLPS) covers a large geographical area and resides within the traditional territories of the Snuneymuxw, Snaw-naw-asand Stz’uminus First Nations. This opportunity is a zone position and will initially be assigned to Bayview Elementary School, with the location being subject to change, based on operational needs.

Position Summary

Elementary counsellors provide a continuum of preventative, developmental, remedial, and intervention services as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Working within the District’s Response to Intervention (RTI) framework, the elementary counsellor facilitates the educational, personal, social, emotional and career development of students in tier 1 schools.
