Inpatient Family Practitioner Position Available
Description
Become an integral part of the West Coast General Hospital as an Inpatient Family Practitioner, supporting our Community Hospital Inpatient Physician (CHIP) team. Focus on delivering culturally safe and trauma-informed care to all patients.
WCGH is looking for family practitioners for full-time or part-time roles. You will provide direct patient care to unattached inpatients, manage discharge planning, and liaison with primary care practitioners. This role also involves offering consultative support to ambulatory clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as MRP for unattached patients and conduct rounds
• Oversee patient discharges and support care flow
• Engage in structured daily team meetings for service coordination
• Provide virtual consults to rural Indigenous communities
• Assist with after-hours calls and urgent patient responses

• Doctor of Medicine degree with family practice training
