THE ROLE

Our client is seeking a mid-level associate to join their Bankruptcy, Insolvency, and Restructuring Group in Toronto. The successful candidate will advise clients on a wide range of insolvency and restructuring matters. Act on behalf of companies in financial distress across both formal and informal restructuring processes, including recapitalizations, reorganizations, workouts, and negotiated creditor settlements. Provide strategic advice and legal analysis on complex insolvency and restructuring issues, supported by in-depth research into relevant legislation and case law. Manage and support sophisticated commercial restructuring and insolvency matters from initial assessment through to implementation and completion. Prepare, review, and negotiate key restructuring documentation and court materials, including plans of arrangement, forbearance agreements, debtor‑in‑possession financing documents, motions, and affidavits.
