Respiratory Therapist I (Red Deer)

Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist I provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and educational respiratory health services across all patient areas within Red Deer Regional Hospital, guided by physician prescriptions or approved treatment protocols.

Key duties include:

• Assess patients—clients, residents—and develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans.
• Monitor patient progress and manage diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams and groups to improve clinical outcomes.
• Provide training and support to healthcare providers on respiratory equipment usage and care.
• Educate patients and their families about diseases, medications, equipment, and treatments.

Qualifications

• Active or eligible registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA).
