Senior Medical Secretary, Outpatient Mental Health

Position Information:

The Senior Medical Secretary provides secretarial services to the Chief Psychiatrist, Consultant Psychiatrists and Staff Psychiatrists working for Mental Health Services of Oxford County. Provides assistance with other secretarial services throughout the Department as required.

Essential Job Functions:
1.Provide typing service as needed to the Chief Psychiatrist and consultant psychiatrists from handwritten notes. Types memos, letters, summaries, statistical data, program planning and departmental reports and other related tasks
2. Collects information for Children’s Aid Society, lawyers, other doctors, probation and for the courts, insurance companies and community partners when requested by Release of Information Form on patients (med records now).
3. Screens incoming mail daily as to importance of attention and prepares outgoing mail for mailing to departments within the unit and out of the unit
