Help monitor sea-ice conditions this 2026 Ice Season with SmartICE as a Community Operator in Nain, Nunatsiavut. Gain hands-on experience by operating advanced monitoring technology like SmartKAMUTIK and SmartBUOY sensors.
SmartICE is looking for enthusiastic community members for a seasonal role dedicated to enhancing ice safety. As a Community Operator, you will engage in comprehensive training and work collaboratively to ensure safe routes are established for community travel. Additionally, you’ll learn critical skills in equipment maintenance and data management through the SIKU platform.
Key Responsibilities:
• Complete training to become a certified operator
