Description

Duties

:
  • Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures.
  • Receive, verify, label and prepare specimens for testing (onsite or referral).
  • Separate, package and ship samples to external laboratories promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Conduct EKG’S as required.
  • Follow safe work practices and organizational policies. 
  • Manage inventory and order supplies for the lab
  • Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of the Royal.
  • Ensure compliance with The Royal’s Anti-Racism, Harassment, & Discrimination Free Workplace Policy.

    • Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in an accredited medical laboratory technician program OR Grade 12 diploma plus completion of relevant accredited courses with CSMLS and MLPAO certification (or equivalent).
